Jim Fried wants city government to be responsive to the needs of its residents. Back-room no-bid deals that giveaway cherished public greenspace to developers; public pools that have been closed for years; deteriorating parks, sidewalks, curbs, gutters; and, mind-numbing traffic; and, a cultural treasure was taken away because of the city’s inability to create a viable financial solution are just a few glaring examples of government failing miserably to serving the needs of its residents. Our incumbent commissioner has voted to giveaway greenspace, ignored the plight of our parks and infrastructure while promoting the creation of a CRA slush fund. CRAs have spent millions of hard-earned tax dollars while producing few results.
Jim Fried has suggestions to change all this.
