Permit Accountability and Transparency (PAT) Ordinance

An ordinance or ballot initiative that will bring a new level of transparency to the City of Miami through a single portal for all permit applications, payments and associated public record requests. Its landing page will feature a status update from each department on evaluation and permit delivery. These would include all permits, licenses, waivers, physical inspections or a temporary-use permits.

Additionally, there will be monthly disclosures about three key permitting issues:

  • The anticipated start-to-finish time from start to finish for all permits.
  • Disclosure of actual completion times of licenses and permits.
  • Disclosure of reasonable expected service time of each step in the application process.

The City Administration’s permit transparency disclosures will have their own website portal domain like GetaPermitInMiami.com.
